About Us

Nancy Bifulco, Director, 2’s and PreK Teacher – Nancy is in her twelfth year as director of the preschool program. She taught in the PreK class before becoming director. Nancy is a very proud graduate of the program, back in its earlier days. She has degrees in Elementary Education and Accounting, so the director position is a wonderful job for her, combining both her passion for children with her enjoyment of management.

Nancy is a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. She has been actively involved in the Sunday school program, has served on many work areas, and has played in the handbell choir for over 30 years. She is married to Ed, a chiropractor who teaches at a university. She and Ed are the proud parents of Olivia, who is a recent graduate of the University of Kentucky.  Nancy and Ed are suffering from empty next syndrome.  They miss going to all of Olivia’s sporting events.  Their four dogs, Junior, Maisy, Winston, and Lucy keep the Bifulco household hopping!

Crystal Lampugnano, 3/4 teacher – Crystal has a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Illinois State University and a Master’s degree in School Improvement Leadership.  She has several years of experience in special education, working in a therapeutic day school and then a high school.  We are so happy to have her join our team!

Crystal and her husband have three sons in elementary school.  They live in Woodridge.  Crystal volunteers in her sons’ schools and coaches soccer and basketball in her free time.  

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Benedictine University and have spent the last 7 years at home raising my daughters, while tutoring math on the side.

I grew up in Downers Grove and currently reside in Westmont. I love spending time with my husband Keith, daughters Maddie (7) and Avery (5), and our dog Zoey! My passions include coffee, art, cooking, and being a Mom!

Kelly Glennon – PreK teacher – I am beyond excited to teach here at Maple Methodist!  I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Illinois State University and a Master’s Degree in Reading from Olivet Nazarene.  I have 9 years of experience as a 4th grade teacher and tutor.  I’ve spent the last 7 years at home raising my 4 children, and I am ready to be back in the classroom!  

I live in Woodridge with my husband, 4 children, and dog.  I enjoy going to all of my kids’ sporting events, walking my dog, and a hot cup of coffee!

Stephanie Pingel – PreK teacher – Hello!  My name is Stephanie Pingel.  I am a mom of 3 boys, 2 of which attended Maple Methodist.  I had the pleasure of volunteering in class, and well, I just didn’t want to leave!  I am thankful for the opportunity of a supporting role, working alongside some of the greatest preschool teachers here at Maple Methodist.  I believe preschool should leave a lasting impression, as this is where learning in class all begins!  I have a passion for nurturing young minds through creativity and play-based learning.  I appreciate the chance to be with your little ones and watch them thrive.

I moved to Downers Grove two years ago with my husband Dan and our three boys, Mason (6), Noah (5), and Liam (5.)  I like to spend my free time with family, volunteering at my boys’ elementary school, taking walks, baking, and getting crafty with my Cricut maker.

Julie Hildebrand – 2’s teacher’s aide – Julie resides in Downers Grove with her husband, 2 sons, and 2 cats.  She is excited to be teaching in the 2 year old classroom this year.  Julie also works as a veterinary technician, and her hobbies include SCUBA diving, traveling, and photography.
